Terms of Service

These Terms govern access to and use of the portfolIQ website (portfoliq.io), web dashboard, HTTP API, SQL endpoint, dbt package, and related documentation (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you accept these Terms and the documents incorporated by reference: the API Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy.

1. Service description

portfoliq.io provides financial data APIs designed for developers and data engineers building fintech applications. The service includes access to aggregated cryptocurrency market data, on-chain metrics, AI-generated market analysis, and Star Schema data models accessible via SQL read-only access (the portfoliq-dbt package, coming soon).

2. Plans and quotas

The Service is offered through four Plans. The Pricing page prevails in case of discrepancy with this table.

3. AI-generated content

Some content on this platform is generated by artificial intelligence (Claude, by Anthropic). AI-generated content is clearly labeled with "ai_generated": true in all API responses. AI analysis is provided for informational context only and should not be relied upon as professional financial, legal, or investment advice.

4. Data attribution

• CoinGecko:Market data is powered by CoinGecko. Raw CoinGecko data is used for internal processing only and is not redistributed in raw form, in compliance with CoinGecko's Terms of Service.
• FRED (Federal Reserve Economic Data):Macro economic data sourced from FRED, St. Louis Fed. Free to use under FRED's redistribution policy.
• On-chain data: Derived from public blockchain data.

5. Acceptable use

Users may not use this API for:

• Automated trading without appropriate regulatory licensing in their jurisdiction.
• Generating personalized investment recommendations that would require AMF/CIF registration.
• Reselling or redistributing raw data in a manner that violates the Terms of Service of the original data sources.
• Using portfolIQ data as input or reference for any financial benchmark, index, or price-fixing mechanism (see API Terms §6 for the full No Benchmark / No Fixing covenant, including the BMR notification obligation).
• Any activity that violates applicable laws and regulations.

6. Subscriptions and billing

• Subscriptions are billed in advance via Stripe, Inc. Payments are pending company registration; join the waitlist to be notified.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds.
• Refunds for exceptional circumstances are at the sole discretion of portfoliq.io.
• Free tier usage is subject to rate limits and may be modified at any time.

7. Service availability

portfoliq.io is provided "as is" without any warranty of uptime or availability. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee a specific SLA outside of the Enterprise plan.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, portfoliq.io shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, this service or the data provided herein, including but not limited to trading losses, lost profits, or data loss.

9. Modifications to these terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Users will be notified of significant changes via the email associated with their account. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Paris, France.
